Bushcraft for Families

A day of adventure in the woods with your family.

 

Join the rangers for a fun-filled day of bushcraft activities. The day starts with a short hike through the woods to a secluded camp, hidden in the trees. Work together as a family to build a survival shelter from natural materials. Spend the afternoon learning how to create sparks and light a fire to toast some marshmallows, then learn how to use a knife safely for a spot of whittling

Duration : 10am to 3pm
Suitable for families with children aged 6 yrs+
Cost £20 + £2 booking fee


In addition to the standard terms and conditions the following bespoke terms also apply:

*Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
*Bring a packed lunch that can be carried 1km to the Bushcraft Camp
*Wear sensible shoes that you don't mind if getting muddy.
*Parking is included. Please provide your car registration number to the event organiser on arrival.
*Dogs are not permitted (except for assistance dogs)

Bushcraft Club
Nature-based activities in a monthly club just for adults.

Each session is different as we move through the seasons and usually includes fire lighting, foraging and a craft skill … all based round the campfire at our secluded bushcraft camp. Activities can include whittling, weaving, natural dyeing, leather work and antler carving

These sessions encourage a genuine connection with nature and can help to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Duration: 10am to 3pm
Suitable for adults only.

In addition to the standard terms and conditions the following bespoke terms also apply:
*Participants must be 18 yrs+
*Bring a packed lunch that can be carried 1km to the Bushcraft Camp, you will not return to the Visitor Centre until the event has finished at 3pm
*Dress for the weather outdoors and wear sensible shoes.
*Dogs are not permitted for this event (accept assistance dogs)

Bushcraft for Homeschoolers at Sherwood Pines
A term-time club for home-schooling families. Our home-ed sessions take place at our secluded bushcraft camp in a quiet corner of Sherwood Pines. Each session you will have the chance to try different bushcraft activity including fire lighting, shelter building, tool use, whittling and natural crafts.

Duration: 10am to 3pm
Suitable for school aged, home educated children (Recommended age 5+)

In addition to the standard terms and conditions the following bespoke terms also apply:

*Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (maximum of 4 children per adult)
*Bring a packed lunch that can be carried 1km to the Bushcraft Camp, you will not return to the Visitor Centre until the session has finished at 3pm.
*Wear sensible shoes that you don't mind if getting muddy.
*Parking is free for this for this event, please ensure you have your car registration number with you to show the event organiser
*Dogs are not permitted for these events (with the exception of assistance dogs)
